Grievances : Subject: Urgent request for repairing of 100-metre lane and permanent solution to recurring waterlogging in Jugipara Lane, behind Rathtala Sporting Club, Ward No- 30
Respected Sir/Madam,
I would like to bring to your kind attention the very poor condition of a nearly 100-metre Jugipara Lane at Rathtala, Barasat, behind Rathtala Sporting Club.
Road Condition has remained extremely poor for many years and proper repair has not been carried out for more than 30 years. During the rainy season, the lane becomes severely waterlogged and the water remains on the road for several days.
At present, the condition has become so bad that even motorcycles and bicycles are unable to pass through the lane properly. The road surface is damaged and uneven, making it extremely difficult and unsafe for pedestrians as well.
The situation is particularly concerning for Indira Gandhi School students who regularly use this road. On several occasions, students have fallen on the damaged/waterlogged road, creating a serious risk of injury and accidents.
Therefore, I sincerely request you to kindly:
1. Arrange an urgent site inspection.
2. Carry out proper and permanent repair/upgradation of the approximately 100-metre lane.
3. Examine the existing drainage/water-flow problem and take necessary measures to prevent recurring waterlogging.
4. Give priority to this work considering the safety of school students, pedestrians, cyclists and two-wheeler users.
This is not merely a road repair issue but also a public safety and drainage problem. I therefore request the Municipality to kindly take necessary action at the earliest, particularly before the next monsoon.
