Grievances : Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to bring to your kind attention a serious public sanitation and health issue that has been affecting our family for a long time.
A number of stray dogs regularly enter our locality and defecate right outside the entrance of our house. Despite spending our own money on preventive measures, including installing a gate and trying various methods to keep the dogs away, the problem continues. Although the road is used by everyone, the burden of cleaning the area falls entirely on us.
Some neighbouring households also feed or keep dogs in a manner that attracts more stray dogs to our locality. We are afraid to raise the matter with them because it may lead to unnecessary disputes. Even when such concerns are expressed politely, no effective action is taken.
My parents are elderly and suffering from health problems. They are finding it extremely difficult to clean the area every day and are experiencing considerable physical hardship and mental stress because of this ongoing situation. This has also created an unhygienic environment around our home.
I respectfully request the Barasat Municipality to take immediate and appropriate action to prevent stray dogs from entering our locality and to implement a long-term solution to protect the health, hygiene, and safety of the residents.
I sincerely hope that the Municipality will treat this matter as urgent and take the necessary steps at the earliest.
