I would like to draw your kind attention to the extremely poor condition of our residential road located under Barasat Municipality, Ward No. 20.
A formal complaint was already registered via helpline no. After that, municipality officials visited only once for inspection, We have also requested many times to the officials who look after the things of this ward. but no action was taken. Even today, the grievance status shows as unresolved. For us, this is not just a “pending complaint” — it is a daily struggle to live with dignity.
We, the residents, have been suffering from this problem for more than five years. The situation becomes especially worse during the monsoon season, when the road turns completely muddy and waterlogged. Even e-rickshaws, Domestic LPG gas delivery and e-commerce delivery vehicles refuse to enter the road because of its condition.
Recently, one of our residents became seriously ill and needed to be hospitalized, but it was extremely difficult to arrange transportation due to the damaged road. Even walking on this road has become dangerous and challenging for children, elderly people, and patients.
This road is approximately 12 feet wide and serves around 18 families living in this locality. Despite repeated hardships, our issue has not yet been resolved.
I humbly request your kind intervention to look into this matter on priority and direct the concerned authorities to take immediate action for proper construction and drainage of the road.
